Fight for the High Road

Oleg Volk Posted this over on his LJ:
Going to court.
In December 2002, I founded The High Road forum dedicated to the advancement of responsible gun ownership. Recently, it was discovered that in 2006, the volunteer forum systems administrator, Derek Zeanah of Statesboro, Georgia, changed domain registration to himself. After he was confronted, Derek locked out all other staff from accessing the Web server administration and would not share even backup copies of its content. After failed attempts to peacefully resolve the dispute, it has become necessary for me to initiate a lawsuit against Derek Zeanah for the return of thehighroad.org domain name and the forum database.

I am seeking and would greatly appreciate donations to help with the cost of litigation. You can use Paypal (olegvolk@gmail.com) or send a check to:
Oleg Volk 3112 Chambley Ct Hermitage, TN 37076

All donations shall be returned if the lawsuit is ultimately avoided. You can also aid me by re-posting this appeal on your blog, forum or web site. My legal position is already endorsed by almost all of The High Road staff as well as Rich Lucibella, the founder of The Firing Line forum.

UPDATE: Derek's reaction was to disable The High Road forum all together. He also removed most of the staff who opposed him.

Obviously there are some noticeable difficulties here on the micro level of who owns the domain. More importantly, this was one of the best known gun rights, information, and education sites. THR had a very tight social community as well.

And the crazy goes on...

I'm somehow still, this late in life, frequently amazed at the lack of sense people display on a regular basis. It's particularly disconcerting in the those who would be our leaders. Sadly, some of those folks have managed a modicum of success in the public arena.

Offending people in the general populace is pretty easy, the larger the group the easier it gets. But it takes a special sort of blunderful to turn off a group of people when talking about their particular passion. A man who would be president Mike Huckabee has managed just that.

Brainwashing...

Because there are limits to my time, and the amount of words blogger will let you put in a post, I'm only going to lightly dissect this video:

First, one should notice the extreme subtlety of the kid looking like a grunge rocker and sitting in the darkest part of the room, while the adult instructor is dressed like a deacon and is in the light.

Second, labeling evolution "eviloution" is not arguing with facts, its doing so with emotion.

Third, well no there may not be transition fossils. We went from rafts to sophisticated aircraft carriers and there are not records of every step of the way in between.

Fourth, DNA, and RNA do not merely replicate what is there, the recombine it from the two parent sources. Also, in that replication there is room for an infinite number of failures to copy properly. This is how numerous genetic disorders come into being. Seeing as different populations have different dominant and recessive genes, and their various levels of dominance, when group A genetically mixes with group B, you are also going to get something new without an errors.

I don't think there's a need to go on.

Hillary as she really thinks...

I've made no secret of the fact that I loathe all three candidates and think all of them will be bad for America in their own very special way. Here's Senator Clinton speaking her mind.

Petition: AWB

The meek and moronic are at it again. There is a newer, more vile, more restrictive, and still unneeded, unconstitutional, unhelpful, and unAmerican "Assault Weapon Ban" in the works. This one includes no sunset clause, bans new weapons, and is in general aimed at making the criminals of America safer.
Sign the petition, but more importantly call, write, and email your Senators and Representatives and tell them why this ban is wrong for America.
